Dear Susanna Sim

Sounds like a lick granuloma, very difficult to treat. Most need cortisone ointment and sometimes antibiotics. No spesific cause but can be painfull joints, skin allergy, boredom etc.

Rooibos anti-itch is a product that we use on our old maltese who seems to have an allergy and is constantly gnawing on her paws  it definitely seems to have helped reduce it

Aunty Marge suggests " AVERT "  (bitter apple spray), which should do the trick!
