Dog vomiting mucus/slime

Our dog started vomiting mucus/slime yesterday afternoon. This morning he is still looking lively &  playfull, but is still vomiting periodically. The vomiting started yesterday afternoon when my son was playing ball with him. But we also have a little 9 week old puppy, that was ill last week. Vet diagnosed him with Upper respiratory tract infection, put him on antibiotics, and told us to keep the pup away from the older dog untill the antibiotics is finished - which we did. Please advise - can our older dog maybe also have this infection, or what could be causing the vomiting? Older dog is 5 years old.

Hi Ads

It is difficult to say if your dog has contracted the same infection from your pup. Is it presenting with the clinical signs as the pup? Was your puppy diagnosed with Kennel Cough? If it was KC then your dog may have contracted the viral/bacterial condition. Please discuss the matter with your vet.

Kind regards
