Home > Experts > Question Question Posted by: PJ | 2013/06/06 dog barking when owner not home Hi there, I have 3 dachounds that are normally not very noisy(besides the normal) but everytime my wife and I go on holiday we get phone calls about our dogs barking "excessively".My wife is at home all the time so then it is fine, but when we leave for a day or longer it becomes a problem. 2 of the dogs are very young and only bark when needed but the oldest one is very anxious and always has a very high pitched bark. She will also sit and bark for long periods of time. It has come to a point where nothing works and we are considering removing her vocal chords since this is really having a negative effect on the surrounding neighbours.
