Dear confused Mom,
If you are uncertain of your child's diagnosis, I would encourage you to get a second opinion.
Sitting still and waiting one's turn are very important behaviours to learn, more so as not to disrupt the other children in the class than for the benefit of your daughter (unfortunately). Changing her placement in class where she is likely to be less noticed by the others may help here, as well as instilling a reward system for showing the particular behaviours you - and the teacher - would like to see.
If there is no difference with the medication, the dose or type of medication may require revisiting. There is no use in her taking the current medication (at that dose) if it has no benefit.
Hyperactivity on its own, without a concentration difficulty, is unlikely.
Kind regards,
Delia
