Do dogs suffer from Parkinson' s??

Hi Cybervet

Our 12 year old miniature Maltese X legs shake very badly when stationary. We have been told by our vet that he has a heart condition but we would like to know if there is anything that we can do for the shaking? He is an otherwise healthy dog, who still loves his food, loves to play with the other dogs in the household &  generally loves outings, so we don' t think he is ready to give up on life right now! It is almost as if he suffers from parkinsons the way his limbs shake, but I am not sure if dogs can suffer from this?

Please advise
