The Notice of Setdown is a document in terms of the Rules of Court in which the hearing date is stipulated. The document is served on the other party through registered post or personally to inform that party of the date of the hearing. If the matter is on the opposed role it means that the matter will be dealt with in a contested manner, where evidence will be given under oath and cross examination will take place.
