diabetes non-insulin dependants

Please advise what might be the cause for a diabetic patient, if she she is unable to speak though one can see that he/she wants to talk. She/He can move all parts of her body. The only problems she having difficulty in opening her mouth.

The patient will have to have a CT scan of her brain done. It is possible that there is a mass or a small bleed that causes pressure on the vocal area of the brain.
