Depo treatment for controlling iron deficiency/anemia

I''ve been diagnosed as anemic due to acute iron shortages. Oral supplements don''t work, suspected absorption problem. Since I''ve been on the Depo injection, my levels have been more stable but I''m gaining a lot of weight. I also have a slightly underactive thyroid for which I don''t take medication. Would an increase in my thyroid function help with loosing weight or is there an alternative method for maintaining my iron levels? I get my iron supplement intraveinously, the injections are also not effective enough.

Elevating your thyroid levels will cause more problems than ever. Please be so kind as to advise me about the reason for your iron deficiency. If it is an absorption problem, you will need depo iron injections.
