dark green mucus

my daughter is coughing up very dark green mucus - she has CF so we used to her coughing up gunge but this is dark dark green, almost bordering on brown....what could it be??

Hi Bibi
Green plegm can be caused by certain bacteria, and brownish phlegm is often a sign of bleeding in the lungs ( could also be due to infection)
