Cortisone (Brain tumor patient)

A friend of ours 68yrs old has a brain tumor. It has been removed twice but regrows in the same place as it is the most aggressive form but does not spread. She is currently bed ridden and on 9 cortisone tabs a day for swelling. Today she decided to stop taking the cortisone as she just wants to die. We would like to know what this will do to her, she has also refused all food and water. She has a living will so no body can intervene. We need to know what to expect. Thanking you very much.

Dear Karen
If she stops the cortisone she may develop brain swelling and go into a coma. Not eating and drinking may lead to dehydration and gradual loss of weight with shut down of kidneys eventually. This will also cause confusion and eventually coma and death
