cornes

Hi there
i suffer form terrible cornes on the side of my small toe which just won' t go away. The pain is worse when i wear closed shoes - even though the feet are comfortable and the shoe is not tight . What' s the cause and how i do to relieve the pain?

Dear Posh

Corns are caused by pressure and friction concentrated on a small area. Closed shoes are the culprit and will irritate an existing corn even if quite loose fitting. You need to find a podiatrist who can remove them properly and give you advice on self care including keeping the callus of the area, creams to soften them and the correct shoes to avoid them coming back.

Regards
Chris
