Conversion of Calories burnt to kilojoules

Hi,
On an eliptical trainer, there is a measure of calories burnt, how does one convert this number to kilojoules burnt?

Multiply by 4.18. So, for example, 100 calories equals 418 kJ.

1 calorie = 4.184 kilojoules
