Contraception

I am 54 years old and been a diabetic since 40 years old. Have been on the 3 month contraceptive injection for 21 years and have just stopped 3 months. Have never had a period while using the injection. Is further contraceptives still necessary at this age?

At 54 the chnace of pregnancy is almost non- existent, so no contaceptives should not be necessary.
