Contracept injection if already pregnant

Hello. I am aware of the manner in which the two month injection works, but is it possible that when first starting it out of the 5 day prescribed perimeter of one' s period, that one can still fall pregnant? And should one be oblivious to this pregnancy due to being on the injection, what are the repurcussions? Will a feotus survive and if so what side effects might it suffer? What could this do the mother' s body?

Thanks

you can fall pregnant in the first month - rare - but it can happen - the fetus might spontaneously abort.
