There is no specific recognized training or qualification training in trauma counselling in South Africa. But there are well-trained and experienced counsellors available, and FAMSA, Lifeline and the Depression/Anxiety Support Group can each suggest some within reach of you with experience in working with trauma victims. They should be well able to help you.

The information provided does not constitute a diagnosis of your condition. You should consult a medical practitioner or other appropriate health care professional for a physical exmanication, diagnosis and formal advice. Health24 and the expert accept no responsibility or liability for any damage or personal harm you may suffer resulting from making use of this content.

Call Lifeline or the Depression and Anxiety Group Helpline - the numbers are just above your post. They will be able to help with names and numbers of counselors. Unfortunately CS cannot make recommendations.

Good Luck
