Good day CyberVet. Our 7 year old Collie X has recently started displaying very strange behaviour! He REVERSES into certain rooms of the house-something he has never done before! He turns his body around completely &  enters the room backwards! We have even gotten right down to his level to see if he sees something that we can' t see? We are wondering if perhaps there could be something wrong with his eyesight-although, he seems fine the majority of the time! Could the shadows reflecting off our white tiled floors be making him scared? We were thinking that he may think that the darker shadows are possibly holes &  he reverses so as not to be scared by them??? Has anyone else out there ever experienced a dog acting this way? Other than this weird change in behaviour, he is extremely healthy &  playful &  eats well. Any ideas?

i have seen this on Animal planet on " britains worst behaved pets"  which deal with oddities in pets and there was this Collie who could not /would not make a right turn!!
it refused point blank - so walking the dog was a mission as it would only turn left. and it had something to do with phobic behaviour which manifests itself in normally intelligent working dogs like the collie etc - dont remember the details but it was really very odd!! COllies are by nature super intelligent and have super sensory and instinctive powers. try Doggie Psychologist maybe?? would like to know what the outcome is.
all the best!
