Dear Joly
Collards are a type of vegetables in the same group as cabbage. Although they are popular in the southern USA, I have not yet seen them for sale in SA. You may find them at specialist green grocers. Like cabbage and broccoli they contain vitamin C, beta-carotene and other so-called antioxidant phytonutrients.
