Hallo Jaco
Lungs can collapse due to a leak, like when a bullae ( bubble) in the lung burst, or when there is a leak of air into the pleural cavity. The lungtissue can also become dense ( without air) in infections like pneumonia. All these conditions can cause chest pain. Are you seeing a lung specialist?
