Hi doc,

is it detrimental to one''s health to drink ice water just after having eaten ( be it a meal or a snack etc)?
Thanks
Patricia

Dear Patricia
No it isn't. There is a email doing the rounds that claims that cold water after a meal will give you cancer - not so. When you swallow cold water, it is heated up by your body in the stomach anyway (just think how quickly a block of ice melts in your mouth and your core temperature is even higher)
