Clamyidia

If you have had clamyidia for a long time, is it still curable? Also how can you tell if your eye is also infected and if it is, is it curable, can it cause blindness?

Dear Anon Amos,

Chlamydia can be treated with an antibiotic, but if it has been there a long time it can [in women] cause the fallopian tubes to block and may cause problems with infertility. If the eye is affected it would cause a discharge from the eye and can be treated and then would not affect sight.
