cigarettes causing to be sterile

Is it tru that methol cigarettes can cause a person to be sterile.
I heard it this weekend and my son of 18 is smoking methol and want to warn him, ut with proof.

In general the effect of nicotine on sperm production is adverse relationship and should best be avoided. However with regards to the use of menthol I am not absolutely certain but would expect there to be an addition negative impact due to it’s ability to absorb into steroids.
