chemical peels

hi there
i would like to know if you apply a foot peel (alkaline) on the feet with a ph of 11.2, what will happen if you dont neutralize the foot afterwards and if you use a lactic acid to remove the horny layer of the sole of the foot, is it still neccessary to use a neutralizer like in the alkaline product case?
hope you can shine some light on this issue.

If you do not neutralise the alkaline or the acid, you can cause severe damage to the skin and soft tissue of the feet.
