Would rather smelly stools sometimes up to 3 a day without having diarrohea and sometimes a bit slimy looking in a 26 m old child warrant an investigation for Cystic Fibrosis. Other than that he had congenital pneumonia at birth and stayed in ICU for 10 days but in the 2 years has had no further pneumonia or bad illnesses, generally very healhty hardly needed dr visits or antibiotics, developing normally except for the fact that i find him rather short considering both parents and sibling are tall.

26 m, height 85cm, weight 10.5kg
Birth weight was 3.7kg?? length 50cm.
Do i need to worry about cystic fibrosis? would he not be having a lot of mucus if he had CF

Dear Al
Not all CF patients have lots of mucus - rather have him tested if you think this could be a possibility. Is the stool lab test normal? Did you discuss with a pediatrician?
