Causes of bleeding in pregnancy include placenta praevia, placental abruption, polyps in the cervix, vaginal infections. The chances of transferrring HIV to the baby depends on which ARVs you are taking and also on things like whether you exclusively breastfeed or not - between 1% and 10%.
