Cataracts

Hello,

I have a small mixed breed bitch aged approximately 12 years - she is fit and in good health, but in the light I can see a bit of cloudiness/bloom developing in both eyes. Is there anything that can be done, or is this just something we must accept due to her age?

Dear aNNa

If they go totally blind the cataract are removable but most dog of that age just learn to cope. The difficult bit for them is to see at night. Don't move your furniture around to often.
