Cataracs and psa tests

1. 40 year ols male - smoker - semi paraplegic - high blood - normal sugar - recently diagnosed with catarac in left eye but still see fine - is it important to have operation or can i leave it as is.
2 . Friend with prosate cancer - psa count is 177 and rising - it that a very high level and normally what is live expactancy with such a count

Cateracts are not dangerous but do impair your vision. It will be your decision when or if you want it removed.
You can't determine prognosis of prostate cancer with the PSA count. It just gives you an indication of whether the disease is active or not. His Oncologist will "stage" his cancer according to certain criteria and the stage will influence the course of the disease.
