Dear David
Carbohydrates and proteins both provide 4 kcal of energy per gram, while fat provides 9 kcal per gram (so anyone attempting to lose weight will achieve more by cutting out 1 gram of fat rather than 1 gram of carbs or 1 gram of protein!). If you burn 400 kcal then this would represent 100g of carbs.
