Calves

Hi FitnessDoc
I would like to ask about my husband' s calves.
He started mountainbiking 6 weeks ago but has no calves.
What exercises can he do to enlarge his calves?

Cycling will help a little bit, just have to give it a lot more time, because the calves are a difficult muscle to target.

he might also try calf raises, where h would stand on the edge of a step with his heel over the edge, and then raise his whole body up using hisankle and calf muscle. Do this 10 times on each leg, and perform 3 sets during the day, and hopefully that will help. But the cycling will help, just has to give it a lot of time.
