Calories count

How much is a good rate to lose weight when it comes to kg and calories burnt a day?

Hi Sam

They say a safe and sustainable weight loss is about 1kg per week, max. Any more than this is usually not sustainable, it's mostly water loss anyway.

To do that, the rule of thumb is that you have to burn about 500 to 1000 Cal per day more than you eat. That usually means a total of say 3000kCal burned a day (say 800 to 1000 in exercise) and 2000kcal taken in.
