Dear Yvonne

Heel pain can be caused by a variety of problems. It may be due to a traumatic injury, such as landing on the heel on a hard surface, or may be an overuse injury, such as plantar fasciitis. Bruised heel syndrome is caused by trauma and is an injury to the fatty pad under the heel.

The best thing to do is rest the foot (no activities that aggrevate the condition), add extra cushioning in the shoe or check your shoes, they may need replacing.

Regards
Chris
