Breast cancer

We''ve got genetic breast cancer in our family where all the women get lumps and are diagnosed with breast cancer at some stage in their life. What is the best age to start going for mamograms and do I need to go for a mamogram even if i''m younger than the suggested age, because of this?

Hallo Leandra
If your mother, any aunts or sisters have been diagnosed for breast cancer you should start screening at a younger age. Mammograms are however not as effective to pick up cancer in younger women due to density of breast tissue, so yearly physical breast exams and if needed, sonars must also be done.
