Our expert says:
The first and most important Food-Based Dietary Guideline for South Africans says "Eat a variety of foods". The reason for this is that the greater the variety of foods we eat, the better our chances are of having a fully balanced diet - so although there is no problem with your suggested breakfast and all the food items are fine, you may find that having yoghurt one day and milk the next, varying the type of nuts you add to your oats and sometimes having fruit on the oats instead of nuts, can make you less inclined to get bored with your meals.
Variety is the spice of life!
