Dear Dawn
Warfarin can affect your bone density and a baseline scan will be a good idea- based on those results you may need some bone active medication or not and we recommend a bone density scan for patients on active bone medication every 18-24 months. If the results are normal, you can make the period in between scans even longer (3-5 years)until you reach the menopause end have it reevaluated.
