BMR

What formula do you use to calc a persons BMR
I know what you use but how do you calc?

Do you mean the BMR or BMI? According to one of my text books, the Basic Metabolic Rate or BMR has to be determined in a laboratory under closely controlled conditions. However, it is estimated that 60-70% of a person's daily energy expenditure is used to sustain the basic metabolic rate. If adult women, who are not athletes, require approx. 8400 kJ of energy in total then their BMR would equal between 5040 and 5880 kJ per day.
