Blood test for cancer

Hi Cyberdoc

Does the normal full blood count show anything that could be related to cancer or must the doctor actually do a special blood test if some kind (any) type of cancer is suspected?

Can this blood test be done routinely?

A full blood count can alert your doctor to certain cancers, like leukemia. There are specialised tests that can be done to look for spesific cancers. If you have a family history of cancer, you can consult your doctor for specialised tets.
