One should remember that blood pressure constantly fluctuates to adjust to your body's needs. If you are in pain, stressed, upset, or just after exercising your BP will be higher than normal. It is always better to sit and relax for 5-10 minutes before you measure your BP. Then work out the average over 7-10 readings : if higher than 120 at the top and 80 at the bottom there may be a problem, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease in the family.
