Hypertension occurs when there is hardening of the blood vessel walls, i.e. the blood vessels are not as pliable as they used to be. Therefore, the pressure increases. This is mostly the explanation for primary essential hypertension. Secondary hypertension occurs when there is an abnormality, i.e. hyper-thyroidism. Please consult your doctor to exclude secondary causes and to treat your hypertension adequately.

Hypertension is the primary cause for heart and vascular disease.

Keep up the healthy lifestyle.
