Hallo Marlene
Hematospermia or blood in the sperm is a common problem and can be due to injury (like after a cycling marathon), infection, in rare cases cancer, and sometimes without a reason. It usually goes away by itself. If it persists or he has other symptoms ( burning urine, pain, difficulty urinating, lump on the testis) he should rather see his doctor for a urine test and physical examination.
