blood in mouth

hello doc.

my mother is 50yrs old and she recently went to the doc as she had sever head achs and the back of her head was swelling. She was said that her pressure is 230. she was given medication to bring her pressure down as she is not a chronic perssure patient. on saturday she just went for a normal check up and her pressure was 175. when she awoke early sunday morning about 2am she had full blood in her mouth and continued thru out the day. is this related to the pressure or must she go back for further examination.

Dear Worried
Blood in the mouth is not related to high blood pressure, but it sounds as if the blood pressure is too high and needs medication. They also need to look where the blood came from - did she cough it up from the lungs, or is it a nosebleed that ran into the back of her throat, or does she have a sinusitis? An examination is necessary.
