Blood donation

Hi Dr
I donated blood yesterday morning early (6th donation). My blood pressure is usually on the lower side, but never extreme enough to be deffered.

However, this morning, I had a sudden lowering in blood pressure, causing dizziness, blackouts, fever, and dry heaving.

At first I thought it might be a stomach bug, but as the day progressd I managed to keep my food down. Could this be an effect of the blood donation 20 hrs afterwards?"

Dear visitor
Low blood pressure won't cause nausea and fever - there may be something else wrong, like an underlying viral infection and if you don't feel better soon rather let your doctor have a look
