Blood after wiping

Hi Doc,

I have been a bit constipated lately and today noticed blood on the toilet paper after wiping.

What could cause this and should I be concerned?

Do not be too concerned, as small tares of the anal mucosal could be the cause for the blood, due to your constipation. Consult your pharmacist for medication to alleviate your constipation. If yoiu are above 50 years of age, I suggest that you consult a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy.
