bleeding 12 years after hysterectomy

I had a slight bit of constipation yesterday, and suddenly found I was bleeding from my vagina. The blood was bright red. It gradually stopped during the day and has not started again. Do you have any ideas? I am 53.

Are you sure it was not from the rectum? Piles would be a possibility.

Best wishes

I was definately bleeding from the vagina, as I used a tampon after the bleeding started.
