Bible Punchers

Dear CyberShrink,

Are religious fanatics “ sufferers of OCD”  or are they “ junkies”  as per drug addiction or “ none of the above” .
Do you suppose that they could at all be redeemable or convertible?

I suspect they are religious fanaics. They may obsess about some aspects of their views, but without other features of OCD. They may get kicks out of their practices, without actuall showing other features of addiction.
Isn't a major feature of religious fanaticism, not their religious views, but the extremism with which they hold their views, and the extent to which they focus on wanting to force other people to follow these beliefs, rather than trying to pracrtice their own religion pricately and faithfully ?
