hI

A colleague is pretending to be friends with us but gossips about us to our new supervisor. the new supervisor takes her word for it but dont see the persons that is really bad the bad colleague. She just takes her word for everything and has a big influence on her. how do we cope with this. IF a person question it your weird so how can we cope with it in silence if you know what i mean.

She couldn't gossip ( except with totally invented stories ) unless people encouraged her both in telling her things about themselves and each other, and by listening to her gossip. If she were denied both of those forms of gossip fertilizer, she'd find it hard to continue. Otherwise, Liza's right.
If your new supervizor is so stupid and unprofessional as to listen to such gossip, let alone believe it, then she isn't fit to hold such a post and shopuld be discussed with HR.

First make sure that you have proof that this bad colleague is lying about you and others. Then lodge a grievance with HR - and get all the other colleagues to act as co-complainants. If people aren''t willing to stand up to this colleague, how will things ever change for the better? Don''t ''cope with it in silence''. It''s like giving her permission to continue!
