Bacterial Vaginosis?

I have a vaginal discharge that has a strange smell.
It is not a persistant discharge it only happens now and then, once a month usually just after my period.
The fact that it is smelly bothers me.

I have wondered if it could be Bacterial Vaginosis but the fact that it only happens now and then and is not persistant has me confused. Could it be serious? Should I go to my Gynae? My last check up was in Sept 08 and all was fine.

Also we are currently Trying to conceive.

It could be bacterial vaginosis or thrush. It would be best to see your gynaecologist for a check.
