alcohol poisoning

How could a person that drinks more than 5 beers a night, every night, not get alcohol poisoning?

Alcohol poisoning is usually an acute situation where a person consumes more alcohol at once for the body to metabolise. Chronic consumption of large amounts of alcohol will have detramentle side-effects in the long run.
