Yes you should have gynae check-ups but you don't need pap smears unless the hysteectomy was for cancer.

IMO I would say yes. The extent of the examination will depend on the extent of the hysterectomy, e.g. do you still have ovaries or cervix? There is also what is referred to as a " Vault Smear"  which checks the health of the vagina. Also be aware of any problems i.e. pain, irritation, etc. down there.
