A sane voice

I just did a cut+paste from the Chris Roper blog on news dot 24:

Murder, he wrote.

I don’ t want to keep bashing away at this whole gay thing - that' s Jon Qwelane' s job - but a report about the shooting at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in the US brings a couple of truths home.
Firstly, this is the kind of action that stems directly from the bigoted utterances of people like Jon Qwelane and Robert Mugabe - a man walks into a church and kills two adults and wounds seven others, because he hates gays and liberals.

CNN reports, " Adkisson, 58, of Powell, Tennessee, walked into the church' s sanctuary during a children' s musical performance and fired a shotgun before being overpowered by congregants and arrested.
" According to Out &  About, a gay newspaper based in Nashville, Tennessee, the church was home to several gay and gay-friendly groups and recently posted a " gays welcome"  sign " as part of its long-range planning to conduct more outreach and welcome"  to gay men and lesbians."

Why can people like Qwelane not see the simple, self-evident truth - you either have constitutionally guaranteed human rights for all people, no matter whether you agree with their lifestyle, state of being or way of living, or else you have no rights. All you have is crazies with guns deciding that god wants them to kill gay, blacks, left-handed people and blathering columnists.

(Remember, you can join the " Jon Qwelane is so CUTE!!!"  group on facebook, everyone welcome. Or if you' re happy to go with a lesser columnist, you can join the Chris Roper' s columns facebook group.)

At the end of the day it is not these individuals who should be blamed for hating gays BUT those who stand on the palpits every Sunday and ADVOCATE hate speech in the name of religion.

It is time that religious leaders take a stance to admit that just perhaps they got it all wrong and just perhaps the reasons so many hate homosexuality is because of the utter nonsense that was written by MAN in these socalled " holy-scripts"

Asfor joining the Jon Qwelane fan clubs etc, I think this bigotted excuse of a human being has had enough milage and time has come for him and his " name"  to vanish into oblivion ..............

We are NOT dealing with the real problems here, merely the treating the symptoms .............

Until clear and well thought up law against HATE SPEECH are in place in SA and anywhere else in the world, people will stirr and cause enough damage to hurt many, be they homosexual, different race, different religion, etc ....
