Home > Experts > Question Question Posted by: Richard Waring - email@example.com | 2013/03/04 Dear expert, I take a daily dosage(tablet) of Lamictal for periodic epilepsy, I have been donating blood frequently for the last 15 years, my Lamictal has never been questioned up until today. The local 'Blood Sister' claims that my donation will affect me, as my donation will remove the Lamictal out of my system. Surely if I am on a daily dosage, my condition will not be affected dramatically ? My wife and colleagues only notice an epilepsy 'blackout' very seldomly. I have been an ardent blood and platelet donor and would like to continue. To date I have donated 76 pints of blood. I am a white male and 53 years old. Please assure me that I am able to continue donating blood. Kind regards. Not what you were looking for?
