Boerboel fear of noisy cars

my 2,5 year old boerboel male, was castrated age 6 months has no aggressive features nor had any incident regarding cars, but I jog with our dog regularly up to 10 km but if there is cars passing he completely freezes up as if its a large dog growling at him. how can i help him overcome this fear? there was no pre-empted reason/incident that has happened with regards to cars so i dont know where the fear resides from

Your biggest problem aside from your use of the english language is probably that you have made an issue of the noisy car situation. Distract him and carry on on in a normal way and desensitize him in a progressive way ie. Gradual exposure which becomes more and more intense until nothing bothers him..
